Norway vs England 2026

England Snatch Semi-Final Berth as Bellingham Breaks Norwegian Hearts

Under the sweltering Miami sun at Hard Rock Stadium, England and Norway served up a quarter-final classic that will be remembered for one man's ice-cold nerve. Norway drew first blood in the 36th minute when Andreas Schjelderup found space and finished with precision, sending the Scandinavian faithful into raptures and threatening to derail England's tournament dreams. The lead, however, proved painfully brief. In first-half stoppage time at the 45th minute, Jude Bellingham announced his intentions with a clinical equalizer, dragging the Three Lions level just before the interval and shifting the momentum decisively as the teams headed for the tunnel.

What followed was a tense, absorbing second half in which both sides traded blows without finding the breakthrough — until the drama reached its unbearable crescendo. Deep into stoppage time in the 93rd minute, Bellingham struck again, completing his brace and ripping the game from Norway's grasp at the death. It was a moment of pure theatre: the midfield talisman rising to the occasion when it mattered most, etching his name into World Cup folklore and condemning a spirited Norwegian side to the cruellest of exits.

The 2-1 victory propels England into the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, keeping their bid for global glory firmly alive and confirming Bellingham as the beating heart of this Three Lions campaign. For Norway, the result marks the end of a remarkable and courageous run — eliminated in agonizing fashion, mere seconds from forcing extra time. As the knockout rounds tighten, England march on with belief surging through the squad, while a devastated Norway are left to reflect on how close they came before Bellingham's late dagger sealed their fate.
